When you visit

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or talk with an usher when you visit.

When are services?

When is confession available?

Saturdays 3-3:40pm

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable and respectful of the house of God.

How do I get to St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Parish?

We are at the corner of Spring and 8th Street, in downtown New Albany.

Where should I park?

There is a parking lot off 8th street. There is also a small parking lot next to the Parish Office.

Where do my children go?

Please make sure your children remain with you at all times.

I’m not Catholic ... so, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?

Our Word and Eucharist book tells you when you can sit, stand and kneel, or you can do as everyone else does.

I’m not Catholic ... is it okay for me to participate in communion?

If you are not Catholic, we invite you to cross your arms over your chest and receive a blessing at communion time. 

Am I expected to put money into the offering?

The Ushers pass the offering basket but no one is required to put in money.

I have a hearing problem. Is there any special assistance?

Yes, we do have audio assistance devices available, near the Sacred Heart Grotto. You may speak to the Ushers for assistance.
